Meigetsuin Temple(Ajisaidera)
On June 16th. My law-parents came to our new house. So next day,My family took parents to Meigetuinn in Kamakura. It's known as Ajisaidera (hydrangea temple), this temple attracts many tourists due to its beauty with thousands of hydrangea blooming in its grounds.
We have been to other temple in Kamakura,but this was a first time to go to Meigetsuin.
We could have a nice day.
Meigetsuin was founded by Misshitsu Shugon under the sponsorship of Uesuigi Norikata.
The temple was under the Zenkoji temple, which was built by Hojo Tokimune and abolished in the first year of the Meiji era.
The temple belongs to the Kenchoji faction of the Rinzai Buddhist sect.
 This pic is a garden that is called Karesansui in Japanese.
A common type of garden which suggests mountains and water using only stones, sand or gravel and, occasionally, plants. Water is symbolized both by the arrangements of rock forms to create a dry waterfall (*karetaki 枯滝) and by patterns raked into sand to create a dry stream (*karenagare 枯流).

At last our house was built!!
I'll move to the new house on May 26th.

土筆（つくし）を かきあげにして 食べました！
おいしかったよ！
えっ？短いって？ 下の英文に チャレンジしてよー。
Have you ever eaten a reproductive shoot of the field horsetail?
It's called `Tsukushi（土筆）" in Japanese.
On last weekend, we went to the park near our house.
Many Tsukushi was coming out throughout the park.
Ｉ remembered my mother cooked us it ｗhen I was child.
It tasted a little bit bitter,so I didn't like it.
But I remember clearly that I enjoyed gathering Tsukushi with my mother.
So I wanted to try it with my children.
We gathered them.
My children competed the amount of gathered Tsukushi with me.
They were forgetting themselves for this game.
We had a good time!
After that, We got many Tsukushi.
And I made Kakiage that a mixture of vegetables and other ingredients fried in oil.
In that time,I put Tsukushi in Kakiage.
This is a recipe that I made a dish.
Except of this recipe's ingredients, I added a long onion, dried shrimps,onion,carrot, a tube‐shaped fish paste cake,and Tsukushi.
This was the first time I cooked a dish, but I could cook it very well.
Very nice!!!
My children and my husband ate a lot of Kakiage.
Of course me too!

March 10th. is my birthday!
In my mind,I 'm in my twenties.
Every years,My husband presents me a lot of flowers.
But in this years' my birthday, he didn't give me them.
Instead of them,he took me outside after my children went to bed.
We walked outside at midnight and arrived at the restaurant near my house.
We talked about many things,and have a nice time.
Of course my children also presented me their letters.
I love my family!!!!

| 今日は、 ひな祭りだよ！
三月は、我が家のバースデー月なのだ。
私が10日、Husbandが5日、義理の母が3日（今日だね）、義理の父が1日。
すごいでしょ？
 Every year as March 3 (Hinamatsuri; the Dolls Festival) approaches many households throughout Japan set up a stand of several tiers and display dolls representing the Emperor and Empress and all their courtiers (people serving in court) dressed in Heian period costumes to wish the girls good health and long life. Even though the origin of Hinamatsuri dates back to the medieval times, it wasn't until the mid-Edo period that Hinamatsuri took on its present form. In Heian period courtiers called in "diviners" on the third day of the third month to transfer their own impurities and trouble to paper images (called katashiro), and floated them down a river. (This custom is believed to have come from China.) The hina dolls of the modern festival are thought to be a combination of the katashiro and dolls called hina with which Heian-period girls played. There is no set rules as to how big the hina stand (how many tiers, or how many dolls) are supposed to be, however the more popular ones seem to have the Emperor and Empress on the top shelf, three ladies in waiting on the second, five court musician on the third, government ministers on the fourth and three court officials on the fifth. There may even be some representations of furniture and foods below them.

新たに 来週月曜日から お仕事することになったワー・・
楽しかった日々の終焉・・
まあ、おおいに楽しんだから、悔いはなし! かなあ・・
テニスもエアロビも 英会話も そして仕事も、ぜーーんぶ出来ればいいんだけどねー。
その時々で やれることをやっておいて、本当によかったわ。

Hi! V（＾0＾） It is getting warmer and warmer in Japan.
It will come spring soon.
As you know, I'm training a teacher of the correspondence course.
I'll work as a teacher from April.
Except this job, I got other new job too.
Suddenly, A temporary employment agency made a job offer to me.
The company is the internet shop of imported goods.
I liked the working terms and this company,and I decided to have an interview for a job.
On this Tuesday,I met a president and we agreed with each other.
I'll start work at this company from next Monday!!
Unfortunately, I have to quit the tennis club and the aerobic club.
But fortunately I can go on with English conversation club!
I accepted the job on condition that I went to this club every Friday.
I think I'm very lucky.
I got two jobs as my wishes! 2/20/2006 今日は、上棟式！
やっと、自分たちの家が建つというという実感がわいてきた。（遅すぎ？？）
今まで、何にもなかった土地に 基礎が出来、柱が建った。
「むねあげの 祭り」 あるいは、「たてまえ」とも 言われる。
家屋の守護神や工匠の神を 奉って、新しい住まいに災厄が起こらぬよう、祈るための儀式だそうだ。
場所によっては、屋根に上ってお餅まいたり、近所の人や建築関係の人を料理やお酒など出して もてなしたりするところも あるようだけど、この辺では、特に儀式めいたことは一切やらないらしい。
なので、我が家も、上棟内祝いの品を 大工さんたちにお配りしただけなのだけど・・
天気は、雨が降り、あわや中止か？と思いきや、皆さん頑張ってくれ、無事予定通り 棟上終了となりました。

Dear Friends
Today,I’ll tell you about one of the ceremony for building a house.
Last day,I told you about Jichinsai.
Do you remember it ?
Today , February 20th. We held 'Jyoutoushiki', which means 'ceremony of putting up the ridge beam of a new house'.
It's also called `Muneage no matsuri" or "Tatemae".
In this ceremony,we pray a guardian god of a house or a god of architecture for building a new house.
Here is the picture of Jyoutoushiki.
 
Many carpenters were building our house.
At last it seems real to build our house.
2/13/2006  Valentine's Day in Japan and Japanese Chocolates
さて 我が家のHusbandは 今年は、いくつチョコをもらってくるのかなあ？
父も 毎年沢山のチョコを もらって帰ってきて、三人姉妹の私は、ハートのチョコレートを 三等分する難しさを このとき学んだワー・・
小2の娘は、あげるなら自分が食べたい、まだそんなお年頃。
今朝の笑える会話。
娘「チョコを学校に持ってきちゃいけないといわれてるから、お友達はタオルをあげるって 言ってたよ。」
私「へー。いろいろ考えてるんだね。」
娘「それも 新品だよ！！！」
私「おいおい、それはあたりまえでしょお・・・」
我が家では まだ数年は、パパの持って帰ってきたチョコを 楽しみにしている日々が、続くだろう。
On Valentine's Day, Japanese women give chocolate to men.
(Men give gifts to women on March 14th called White Day.)
This tradition started as a marketing tool for chocolate companies in Japan. Japanese women are encouraged to express love to men by giving chocolate and other gifts on February 14th.
Grocery stores, department stores, and convenience stores sell many different kinds of domestic and imported chocolate. More than half of the chocolate sold in a year is sold around Valentine's Day in Japan. Women buy chocolate for their co-workers, bosses, male friends, brothers, father, husband, boyfriends, and so on.
Chocolate given to men whom women don't feel special love are called "giri (obligation)-choco (chocolate)."
Chocolate given to co-workers and bosses are usually considered as giri-choco. Many men feel embarrassed if they don't receive any chocolate on Valentine's Day.
Women usually make sure to give giri-choco to men around them so that they don't feel left out. The average price range for giri-choco is from 100 yen to 300 yen each.
Of cource my husband receives a lot of giri chocolate from his colleagues or his customers every year.
I and my children are looking forward to coming this day !
Because we love chocolate very much.
Women tend to give special gifts, such as neckties and clothes with chocolate to those men whom they love.
Chocolate given to a special man from a woman is called "honmei (prospective winner)-choco."
Honmei-choco is more expensive than giri-choco and is sometimes homemade. It's lucky if a man could receive a honmei-choco.
The most popular Japanese chocolate brands are glico, Meiji, and Lotte. They make many delicious chocolates and sell them in attractive packages.
Happy Valentine's Day! 節分 (Setsubun)
On the evening of the first day before the traditional beginning of Spring (立春 "risshun"), a brief rite called "mame-maki" (豆まき, literally "bean-throwing") is conducted at temples and shrines to drive away evil spirits and disease. It is especially popular with children.
Today,I'll tell you about a kind of Japanese custom,Setubun(節分).
The word Setsubun originally referred to the day preceding the days thought to be the beginning of each season on the old calendar we used until 1871,but it came to be applied more specifically to the day before the first day of spring called (risshun), which falls on February 3rd or 4th on the solar calendar.
In the evening of setsubun beans (usually soybeans) are scattered inside and outside the house or building to the chant of "Oni wa soto! Fuku wa uchi!" (Out with the devil! In with good luck!) to drive out evil demons and to summon good luck.
 My son made a mask of Oni (= a demon) in kindergarten. 
And that evening,My husband put on it escaped from setsubun beans that children threw.
When they throw it the demon,They say `Oni ha Soto ".
This action means `Out with the devil".
After the bean-throwing people eat the same number of beans as their age because of the tradition that it will bring good health during the year.
I had to eat over 30・・・
My children said `That's not fair."

久しぶりの更新！
某通信教育の添削員の研修が、始まったぞ！
意外と大変なんだなー、これが・・・・
もともと 字が下手な私が、子供のお手本になるような字を書かなきゃいけないし、神経だけでなく、腕の筋肉も 使いまくりです。もちろん、頭も使うよ！
つくづく、テニスで腕を鍛え上げといてよかったと、思ってます。
まあ、添削料+字がうまくなる+自分の子供に教えるノウハウを身につけることが出来る と、いい面もあるけど、かなり仕事的にはハードかも。
添削料も、この仕事量で考えると 決して 割のいいものではないし・・
子供も通信教育〈私が働く会社とは違う会社です・・だって安いんだもん〉をやっているけど、先生の大変さが 身にしみて 分かったよ。
子供に、先生へのお便りコーナー（娘はめったに書かない）を 書くように！と、言うようになってしまった・・。
みんなの近況は、何か変わりましたかー？
あー、そうそう 家のほうは、基礎をまさにしているって感じです。
今は、外構工事を別会社にお願いするか、家を建てている建築会社にお願いしちゃうか、見積もりで比較しています。
やることたくさんあって、頭パンクしそう！

Hi!
I was surprised that I didn't have written on my space for a long time.
After winter's vacation, I began to attend a training of my new job.
The training is harder than I expected,but I'm interested in this job.
After this training, I'll be a teacher of a correspondence course.
I'll have about 35 pupills who are 1st and 2nd. graders.
The building of our house is going well.
It has just laying the groundwork for building it.
Mt. Fuji is a symbol of Japan is getting white because of snow.I can see it every morning .
There's a lot of flu about.

My daughter gets mumps!
On December 25th, my children received some present from Santa and their grandparents in England.
To tell the truth, they are my friend’s parents. I call them Dad & Mum too.
And next day, my daughter gets mumps.
Was this a present from Santa to her?
Her symptom of mumps is not serious, so she is very fine.
 Today, I received notice of the results of the employment exam.  
I got my hoping job that I could work at my home.
This job is a service by mail which provides corrections and comments on students' answers given in a correspondence course.
I’m very lucky.
Is this my luckiness a present from Santa?
娘が おたふくになった!
でも症状は 軽くて とても元気!
2、3日で腫れもひき、熱もでることなかったよ。
そして、私は 某通信教育の添削員採用試験に合格したという 通知を 今日受け取った!
バンザーーイ
一次試験 書類審査＆小論文、 二次試験 実技＆小論文、 三次試験 面接という かなり大きなハードルを 飛び越え 勝ち取ったぞ!
来年から 研修が 何回があるそうだ。
この仕事 おばあさんになるまで 続けられたら 幸せだなー・・・
可能かどうかは知らないが・・ﾊﾊﾊﾊ

On December 23rd,I held a Christmas party for my English Conversation Club that I managed.
12/23、私の英会話サークルで クリスマスパーティーを 開いたよ。
The numbers of participants were about 50 members.
For this party, I planed the program and ordered party meals. 
出席者は、約５０人。このパーティーのために 料理を注文したり、プログラムを考えたり しました。
This is my first time holding such a huge party, but it was a success.
こんな大きなパーティーは、生まれて初めてだったけど、 うまくいったと思う。
Everything went so well thanks to Mr. Kubota and the director of Public Center.
すべてが 順調にいったのは、久保田氏と センターの館長さんのおかげです。
In regard to preparing the party meal, Mr. Kubota, an assistant manager of a Max Value Supermarket, grants my request.
料理の注文では、マックスバリューの副支店長 久保田氏が、私の（かなり金銭的に無理な）注文に 応えていただきました。
I really appreciated your kindness.
こころより お礼申し上げます。
And also the directors of Public Center, who approved and willingly let us use the room for our party.

そして、私たちが パーティーでセンターの教室を使用することを快く許可してくださった 館長様、本当にありがとうございました。
I could proceed with the program as arranged.
予定どおり計画を進行することが出来ました。
 We play a lot of games and the children receive many presents.
Everyone looked so happy and enjoying it.
We had such a great time.
沢山のＧａｍｅをして、子供たちは 沢山のプレゼントを受け取って、みんな楽しそうにしていました。
In the future, I plan to hold a similar party every year during Christmas.

地鎮祭 無事 終わったよー！
詳細は 海外の友人のために 書いたので 訳省略ね！！
The Jichinsai ceremony began at 1:30p.m. on Dec,17th.
The wether was fine as if God blessed us.
Here is the picture of Jichinsai.
 This man is a Shinto priest(Kannushi).
This ceremony was performed by Shinto priest who prayes for the safety of the workmen and the earth god who may be disturbed by the construction.
    
Bamboo branches, joined by sacred rope, Shimenawa(Japanese),were placed at each of four sides of the building site.
A special evergreen branch,Himorogi(Japanese),surrounded by a simple enclosure, was placed on a stand with eight legs beneath which coarse straw was spread.
This arrangement faced south.
 Here is ,my husband breaking a little mountain that was made from sand with a hoe.Also a leader of the designers and architects did it.
These pix are my husband , I and my children prayed in front of the alter.
 Can you see the vegetable, fruits, rice cake,fish,Japanese sake,and so on?
They are called Osonaemono(offering).
We believe they are bringer of good luck.
So after the Jichinsai, we took them back home and ate them.

12/17 地鎮祭をやるよー
It also called Chinjisai,Jisai,,kotoshizume matsuri or tsuchimatsuri.
Today,I’ll tell you about this ceremony.
The Jichinsai ceremony is a Shinto ritual intended to calm the kami (god) of the earth whenever a new building or other construction begins.
地鎮祭は、新しい建物を建てるときや 建築工事をはじめるときに 土地の神様を鎮めるための儀式なんだよ。
I heard even when Japanese construct buildings offshore (the construction of factories in China, Europe and the USA for example) a Jichinsai is inevitably held.
日本人は 海外にさえ建築物を造るとき、必ず地鎮祭を執り行うらしい。
Next time, I’ll tell you about it through my experience.

家族で よく ”人生ゲーム”や“ポンジャン”で 遊ぶんだよ。
A looser has to obey winner's order.
負けた人は、勝った人の言うことを聞かなくてないけないんだ。
When I win a game, I always order my children to kiss me, and order my husband to prepare a meal.
わたしが 勝つときは、いつも子供には、キスをさせ、旦那には、食事の準備を してもらう。
 My children usually order me to take a bath together,or go to bed together.子供たちは、たいてい 一緒に風呂はいろう、とか 一緒に寝よう、とか 言ってくる。
My husband wants to order me to massage him,but I have never lost him. hahaha
旦那は、わたしに マッサージをさせたがっているけど、旦那に負けたことないんだよね。はははは
We have a happy time at home. And also we go shopping and eat out.
 Every Monday,this day is my relax day once a week. 月曜日は、唯一のリラックスデイ！
 Of course I like to play with this computer too.スポーツ大好きだけど、パソコンで遊ぶのも大好き！
I use it for a means of communication and researching various things almost everyday.
コミュニケーションや いろんなことを調べる手段として ほとんど毎日使っているよ。
This is my everyday life.

JAPANESE STYLE WEDDINGS 2
Hi there!
As promised,I'll tell you about the wedding reception(hirouen).
約束どおり、披露宴について、話します。
After the ceremony, the couple welcomes all the guests, and the reception party is held.
挙式の後、二人は、ゲストを歓迎し、披露宴を催します。
 Usually the party is visited by about 20 to 100 guests among whom are relatives, friends, co-workers and bosses of the bride and groom.
普通 披露宴には、新郎新婦の 親戚、友達、同僚、上司、20人から100人ほどのゲストが、訪れます。
The party normally starts with the introductions of the bride and groom.
Afterwards, a meal is held and several guests make contributions such as speeches, songs and the like.
たいてい、新郎新婦の紹介から 始まり、その後、食事しながら、何人かのゲストが、スピーチをしたり、歌を歌ったり、します。
During the whole celebrations, the groom and especially the bride may change their dresses several times.
It is called “Oironaoshi” in Japanese, and the common practice of the bride and groom leaving the reception to change outfits from the wedding dress or white kimono into a colored kimono and/ or a brightly colored evening gown. The amount of times outfits are changed varies but on average the bride will change 2 or 3 times (the groom may or may not change).
宴の間に、新郎新婦は、何回か、衣装を着替えます。
それを、日本語で「おいろなおし」といいます。
My friend changed from the white wedding dress to the yellow dress.
私の友達は、白いウェディングドレスから、黄色いドレスに、お色直ししました。
She has a graceful fogure,so the yellow dress suit her well , too.
彼女は、スタイルが良いので、黄色いドレスも とてもよく似合っていました。
At the very end of the party, the father of couple and the groom will speech to all the guests and thank everybody.
披露宴の最後に、ふたりの父親と 新郎が 挨拶をします。

Welcome to my space.
I was invited to my friend's wedding ceremony on Nov.19th.
11/19、友人の結婚式に行ったよ。
（のぶちゃん、おめでとう！！）
I took about three hours from my house to there.
This was a first time that I got on the bullet train (Shinkansen) by myself.
I was excited with the traveling alone.
3時間あまりのわくわくの一人旅。新幹線にひとりで乗ったのは、初めて・・・（いつも家族と一緒だったものナー）
Contemporary Japanese weddings are celebrated in a great variety of ways.
現代の日本の結婚式は、いろいろな方式で祝われるんだ。
Many contain traditional Japanese and Western elements side by side.
多くは、伝統的な日本式と西洋の要素を取り入れた方式がある。
My friend's ceremony was Western style.
友達は、西洋式ね。
Today,I'll tell you about Western style wedding through my friend's ceremony.
今日は、友達の結婚式を通して、西洋式の挙式を お話ししましょう！
Many brides who chose Western style like my friend wear white and Christian dresses,and the ceremony is held in Christian style at a Church in the ceremonial hall.
The couple can chose this ceremony style, Even if they not be Christian.
友達のように 西洋式を選んだ多くの花嫁は、白いドレスを着るんだ。そして、挙式は 結婚式場内にある教会で、キリスト教スタイルで おこなわれる。
たとえ キリスト教徒でなくてもね。
All attendance sing a sacred song,and watch the ceremony.
出席者は、賛美歌を歌い、式を見守ります。
The couple swears by God that they promised to stand by each other,and exchange of wedding rings,and kisses to swear.
二人は、互いに 協力しあうことを神に宣誓し、指輪を交換したり、誓いのキスを 行う。
After the ceremony, usually the couple welcomes all the guests, and the reception party is held.
式の後、二人は、来客者を歓迎するために 披露宴を行う。

Japanese housing falls into three categories
1. Privately-owned houses，detached or purpose-built flats (Condominium)
2. Public flats built by the local government.
3. Private rented housing.
日本の住宅形態
1.持ち家（戸建て、マンション等）
2.公的住宅（公営住宅、公団住宅など）
3.民間賃貸住宅
The latest statistics show that the number of Japanese have a house or condominium is about 61% in the number of households.
最新の統計によれば、戸建てあるいは分譲マンションを持っている日本人は、世帯数のうち 約61％。

（総務省統計局統計調査部国勢統計課「H15年度住宅・土地統計調査速報集計結果による」）
Many people say the housing situation is still very bad in Japan.

How are you?
Today, I'm going to tell you about Japanese National Culture holiday November 3rd.
今日は、11月3日日本の祝日の文化の日（ぶんかのひ）について話すねーー。
This is the holiday which loves freedom, peace and wishes development of culture.
自由と平和を愛し、文化の発展を願うことを趣旨とした祝日なんだ。
It was enacted from the first as a day which congratulates Emperor "Meiji" on birthday on that day.
一番最初は、明治天皇の誕生日を祝う日ということで制定されたんだ。
Moreover, the Constitution of Japan is also the day "proclaimed."
そのうえ、日本国憲法が“公布された”日でもあるんだよ。
The day had exactly enforced as Constitution Memorial Day on May 3 after half a year the Constitution of Japan came.
そして、日本国憲法は半年後の5月3日（憲法記念日）に施行されたんだ。

Hey there!
How are you?
I had been very busy for this mouth.
この一ヶ月、とっても忙しかったんだ。
My children caught a cold in turn.
After they got well, My husband caught a cold.
子供たちは、順番に風邪をひくし、子供が治ったら、今度は旦那･･･
I had to take care of my family.
世話しなきゃいけなくてね・・（なんかおばあさんっぽい？）
And they gave me their cold...........
そうしたら、みんなの風邪が私にうつったわ･･･
I caught a cold in the nose.
I had blown my nose in all day.
鼻かぜで、一日中鼻をかんでいたよ。
I was in bad condition, though I had a lot of things that I had to do and think.
最悪のコンディションだったけど、やらなければならないことや、考えなければならないことが、たくさんあってさ。
But now, I got well !

This book is a picture book, so I bought it for my children.

9/18/2005  Hey There!Today was my daughter's elementary school field day(Undoukai in Japanese).
今日は、娘の運動会だったよ！
I'll tell you about `Undoukai"one of the Japanese school's big events.
日本の学校の大きなイベントのひとつ、運動会について、お話します！
This is an annual event held outside on a track and field for several hours on Aug. or Sept.
運動会は、、9月か10月に数時間、 校庭で開かれる年一回のイベントだよ。
Children have to run a race, dance, and join in various events.
子供たちは、かけっこしたり、踊ったり、いろいろな種目に参加しなくちゃいけないんだ。
 And their families cheer children vigorously,and take a photo or a handy cam (a video camera).
そして、その家族たちは、
応援したり、
写真やビデオを撮ったりするんだよ。
My daughter said "my favorite event was taking my lunch. "
娘にとっての運動会の楽しみは、お弁当を食べることだって。

Deep‐fried chickens & A Salad
I made boiled quail's eggs look like a chick in the egg.
They are very cute,so my children like them.

I think that "Participation" and "Fun" are the two most important objectives of Undoukai.
運動会の最大の目的は、「参加すること」と「楽しむこと」この二つだと 思う。

Hey there!
I'll tell you about my weekend.
We barbecued with friends on a river.
友達と、川で バーベキューを しました。
Then I met a great friend in here.
そのとき、素敵な友達に会ったよ。
Have you ever watched this movie`A bug's life"producted by Pixer.
Pixer製作の「バグズ ライフ」という 映画を 見たことある？
Do you know Slim is one of the characters?
そのキャラクターのひとり、スリムを 知ってますか？
He is a stick bug who looks like a branch. スリムは、枝そっくりの ななふし というムシです。
I was very happy to meet him, because I had never seen a stick bug.
私は、ななふしを見たことがなかったから とてもうれしかったよ。
Of cource my children looked glad, too.
After that, we set him free.
その後、ななふしは 逃がしてあげたよ。
This day was the comfortable temperature.
We had a very happy day.
この日は、気温もちょうどよくて、とても楽しく 過ごせました。
